This pool-based clinic is a quick introduction to the basics of kayaking. It is ideal if you are wondering if kayaking is for you, or to prepare for travelling somewhere hot this winter! You will be taught how to safely get into and out your kayak and a few of the basic strokes to get you going.
Upon completion of this clinic, you will learn enough about kayaking that you are hungering to get out on the water! You will have basic boat control skills and be able to safely enter and exit your kayak from shore.
This course takes place at Mount Royal University pool (map). Parking is free! Kayak, paddle and sprayskirt are provided by MRU - they have NEW Jackson Rouge kayaks this year! Come prepared to have fun and get wet!
Our "Kayak 1 – The Basics" course is a great choice if you seek a more in-depth course. Our "Paddle Canada Intro. to Kayak" course provides even more depth and a certificate recognized world-wide.
