You will be taught more advanced paddling techniques (i.e. edging, bracing), new rescue skills (i.e. rolling, towing), seamanship (i.e. weather, navigation) and camping skills. Level 2 is the highest Paddle Canada skill level that can be achieved on the prairies!
You will leave the Level 2 course with the skills, knowledge and confidence to paddle in moderate conditions over multiple days. You will receive your Paddle Canada Sea Kayak Level 2 skills certificate.
An overnight trip is part of the program.
Paddlers at this level usually own their own gear. However, kayak and related gear is available for rent for 25% off during this course.
This clinic is designed for adults - all participants must be at least 16 year old. Children 12-15 are welcome to participate if a parent is also registered in the clinic.
Paddle Canada Level 1 skills certification or equivalent skill and knowledge. Experience of at least 3, one day long, kayaking trips in different locations. Wilderness First Aid (16 hours) with CPR is strongly recommended.

Full payment is due at registration to secure your spot in the course.
On the rare occasion when Undercurrents cancels a lesson, we will issue a full refund or make every reasonable effort to register you in an equivalent program; it is your choice.
If you cancel for any reason more than 14 days prior to the course commencement, you will receive a full refund less our $10 administrative fee.
There is no refund if you cancel for any reason within 14 days or less of the course commencement.
Courses go rain or shine. Here in Alberta we can have rain, snow, blistering heat or high winds - sometimes on the same day. Don't believe weather forecasts; dress for varying weather conditions. If you need help, our store staff can give you great advice!
