Description:
You will be taught more advanced paddling techniques (i.e. dealing with current, bracing), new rescue skills (i.e. rolling, towing), seamanship (i.e. weather, navigation) and camping skills. Level 2 is the highest Paddle Canada skill level that can be achieved on the prairies!
Expected Outcome:
You will leave the Level 2 course with the skills, knowledge and confidence to paddle in moderate conditions over multiple days. You will receive your Paddle Canada Sea Kayak Level 2 skills certificate.

Notes:
An overnight trip is part of the program. You need to supply your own camping gear.
Kayak and related gear is provided. You are encourage to learn in your own kayak, if it has sealed airspaces at each end and a perimeter line. Rescue gear is provided.
This clinic is designed for adults – all participants must be at least 16 year old.
All participants are required to complete and sign our standard waiver.
All of our instructors are Paddle Canada certified! Their certifications are current, and they undergo regular professional development. Most paddling schools in Alberta don’t meet that standard. ?Part of the famous Undercurrents experience!
Level 2 is the highest level achievable off-ocean, and we are the only paddling school on the prairies qualified to offer it. ? Part of the famous Undercurrents experience!
After you complete this course get out and paddle! Practicing is the proven way to hardwire your new skills so you can enjoy a lifetime of safe paddling. Then, take our Basic Kayak Instructor course or our Level 1 Instructor course to increase your skills and share your love of paddling with others!
Prerequisites:
Successful completion of our Kayak Touring Level 1 courses, or the Paddle Canada Level 1 skills certification, or equivalent skill and knowledge.
Experience of at least 3, one-day-long, kayaking trips in different locations.
Wilderness First Aid (16 hours) with CPR is strongly recommended.
